Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As we enter the Nativity Fast, I hope that we are all beginning to prepare our hearts for this holy season. As a part of that, Metropolitan Gregory has asked that we add a special prayer for peace to our evening prayer rule, or at least at some time during the day. A copy of the prayer is attached, as well as his letter regarding the significance of the prayer. Please try very hard to honor his wishes in this regard.

For this coming week: As you know, we will not serve vespers on Saturday evening, but will serve Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.

This coming Tuesday night, we will have a vesperal Divine Liturgy at 6:30 p.m., in observance of the Feast of the Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple. We will not have a Wednesday evening service.

Next weekend, on Saturday, November 24, we will begin our series of classes concerning "A Christmas Carol" and the Orthodox faith. That will be at 4:00 p.m., and Great Vespers will follow at 5:00 p.m.

I hope to see everyone on Sunday!

In Christ,

Fr. James
